The expensive part before the first feature
Getting an application started involved more than generating a folder. The repository, infrastructure, delivery configuration, monitoring, and code-quality integrations all needed to agree. That initial work could take one to two weeks before the team could concentrate on the product.
The repeated decisions were an opportunity to build a better starting point.
Ask for intent, generate the foundation
The application setup automation asks the developer what kind of repository they are building and where it needs to be deployed. Those answers drive a complete boilerplate with infrastructure and the relevant integrations prepared together.
Sentry and Sonar are included in that starting point. Observability and code quality become part of beginning the work, rather than another set of tasks to remember later.
The outcome
The initial code, infrastructure, and monitoring setup moved from 1–2 weeks to approximately 15 minutes.
The practical change is what a team can do next: start working on the application with its foundation already in place.
The engineering idea
A useful developer platform translates intent into a consistent result. It should remove repeated decisions while keeping the decisions that actually belong to the product team. That distinction is what makes an automation worth adopting.
